Re-Tiling of Clubhouse Hallways
The project to re-tile the west rotunda, including the hallway towards the Golf Shop, the rest rooms and a small tiled area at the former caf entrance is now underway. Work could extend to two weeks. During this work, entrances will be closed and traffic redirected. Signs will be posted to assist you and the back doors to each locker room/shower areas will be unlocked for your use.
This work will not affect the Golf Shop's hours of operation, but their back entrance will be closed during the project. Handicap computers have been relocated to the men's and ladies locker rooms.
We plan to split the project in two (2) phases. The Rotunda itself being one phase and the Golf Shop hallway, rest rooms and former caf entrance the other phase. We don't anticipate any problems, but in construction you never know. Nonetheless, please know, we will do everything in our power to make this as painless as possible. We apologize for this temporary inconvenience and ask for your patience, cooperation and understanding during this project.
Club Board Meetings
The next board meeting will be in September. Once scheduled, the time and date will be available here.

Clubhouse Landscaping Revision Completed
| The re-landscaping of the clubhouse has been completed, as shown below. The handsome clubhouse facade can now be enjoyed!
|
About Your Course - by Course Superintendent Bob Volpe
|

We have just completed the landscaping project, pictured above, in front of the clubhouse. Many thanks to our contractor, Caple Landscape. They are also providing us with the trees to be planted on the Egret course starting this week. Gordon Lewis, our golf course architect, was here last week staking the new positions for these trees. He will also be on-site during the planting stage.
Summer has arrived with afternoon showers and high humidity. These conditions warrant certain changes to the Bermudagrass. One change is we have raised the height of cut on the fairways and approaches in order for the grass to withstand these tough weather conditions. We will continue to monitor the weather and make any necessary changes to benefit the turf.

On Saturday, June 4, Bob Schwartz hit his 9-iron tee shot 135 yards into the hole on Ibis #8 for an ace.
Witnessing his shot were Peter Phelps, Rich Urban and Bob Wyant.
Congratulations, Bob.

New Menu News
We have recently implemented a menu revision for the Grill Room. A number of new items have been added in an effort to provide more variety. If one of your favorite items is no longer offered on the menu, I assure you it will return on a future menu revision.
One of the new items I would like to introduce are the scallops we are serving. The scallops themselves are from a company named Portico and they are much lower in moisture than your typical dry sea scallop. This is possible because of how the scallops are treated when being processed. All sea scallops are rinsed in a saline solution prior to being packaged. This is performed to clean the scallop and also to assist the shelf life of the scallop. Companies will allow the scallops to sit in the solution for an hour or so. During this time the scallops absorb some of the solution and increase their weight, which we pay for. Portico scallops are only rinsed in the solution. This prevents the scallops from absorbing the saline solution and provides a superior product.
