Dear neighbor,
Your invited to weigh in on the topic of property tax relief at four different events in the coming weeks.
Should the Municipality examine ways to provide property tax relief by changing the current mix of taxes or leave things as they are?
Property taxes are the largest source of revenue that pays for city services. It's important that tax payers come to the table and share their ideas. I'll be listening for new possibilities and solutions on potential diversification.
Each year the city's labor costs increase and my Administration has worked hard to cover them by becoming more resourceful and finding efficiencies. But the Municipality is reaching a point where paying for increased costs for services that the community has come to expect primarily will fall on property tax payers.
