Greetings!

Another month has flown by, and the action never seems to stop. Here's what you need to know about what's happening with WGBA:

Networking Fun

Join us this Friday for a family friendly networking event at Miller Park. During the tailgating, we will be learning about Miller Park's LEED O+M Certification from our generous sponsor Johnson Controls. Then we will head into the ballpark to enjoy a Brewers vs Pirates game. Space is limited. So, be sure to reserve your tickets today!

Green Apple Day of Service (GADoS)

An annual, international day of service to put all children in schools where they have clean and healthy air to breathe, where energy and resources are conserved and where they can be inspired to dream of a brighter future. Micro-projects are set up to improve schools and demonstrate the importance of where we learn matters. The official GADoS is September 27th, but K-12 Schools can host their project days anytime the month before or after that date. You can make a difference by engaging a school, gathering a team of volunteers, or by donating to this wonderful cause. Visit wgba.org/wgbagados for more information.

Board of Director Elections

Looking for a leadership opportunity? Are you passionate about facilitating and promoting ecologically sustainable practices within Wisconsin's built environment? Serve on our Board of Directors! Nominations are open for WGBA's 2015 Board of Directors. The full schedule and packet are available here: wgba.org/bodelection. Don't miss your chance to leave your mark. Nominate yourself today!

Celebrating Leaders

Nominations are open for the 2014 Transformation Awards! Do you know a dedicated individual, inspirational group or outstanding business that is transforming Wisconsin's built environment? We are looking to recognize people and organizations that are leading the way to a more sustainable future within the following categories: Community Champion, Operational Excellence, Restoration, Innovation, and Education. Nominations are due by October 1st, and the winners will be honored at the Transformation Awards Reception in Oconomowoc on November 13th. Download the nomination packet and learn more about the celebration at wgba.org/transformation.

Impact & Innovation Conference

Planning for our 2015 programming has begun, and we are terribly excited about what's to come. In an effort to better distribute the future events throughout the calendar year, the Board has decided to postpone the 2014 Impact and Innovation Conference. It is now scheduled for February 24, 2015, and all future conferences will be scheduled at the beginning of each year. The event is still being held at the Pyle Center in Madison, and registration is open. Learn more about the conference at wgba.org/impact2015

Continuing Education Units

For those of you that are now panicking because you needed the CEU's from the conference, don't worry. We have you covered. Not only do we have our regularly scheduled offerings, but on September 10, 2014, we are holding our very first Credential Maintenance Mini-Blitz that will consist of two high quality, live presentations streamed online and delivered back to back. You can sign up for both sessions or just one. It's entirely up to you. Either way, you will be able to earn CEUs from the comfort of your desk, and all you will have to do is self-report the hours to your professional credential administrators. Learn more and reserve your spot today!

Charitable Giving

Are you seeking a way to be recognized as a leader that supports a better, more sustainable built environment? As you begin your 2015 budget planning, please consider making a contribution in the form of an in-kind donation or financial sponsorship. Your support will help us continue to influence positive change, and your gifts to 501(c)3 organizations like WGBA are tax deductible as permitted by law. Learn more about supporting WGBA at wgba.org/support.

Best wishes!
