A new year brings a new look to WGBA. We've completed our transition into a full USGBC Chapter from an Affiliate, and we've also taken this opportunity to enhance the look and feel of the outward public appearance of the organization. I'm delighted to share with you a number of new enhancements, such as our new logo and appearance of our monthly newsletter.

2013 was a transitional year for WGBA, both in the transition from USGBC Affiliate to Chapter, and in our executive director leadership. Korinne Haeffel has been our interim executive director since June of 2013 and has been instrumental in moving the organization forward. It's with great pleasure that I announce Korinne's transition to full time executive director of the WGBA. Korinne brings a wealth of experience with the organization with her tenure as a board member, representative on behalf of the WGBA on the Heartland Regional Council, and as her experience working as an architect. Korinne's love of the organization is infectious and her passion for sustainability here in Wisconsin made her the obvious choice to take the full time executive director position. Please join me in welcoming and congratulating Korinne in her new role.

Finally, WGBA consistently strives for diversification of our Board of Directors, which allows us to harness multiple perspectives as the organization moves forward. We'd like to especially welcome our new board members: Dan Beyer, Bill Handlos, Erick Shambarger, and Melissa Vernon. Learn more about our 2014 board by visiting: http://wgba.shuttlepod.org/2014bodOn behalf of WGBA, please join me in welcoming the new board members to the organization. We'd also like to thank them and their employers for their devotion of time and treasure to the organization.

As Board President, I invite you to get involved with WGBA in 2014. We have lots of new opportunities, whether you're looking for a chance to volunteer, earn continuing education credits, celebrate green building, or to give back to the community. We are currently updating our website and will have our new upcoming opportunities posted soon. Stay tuned!

Sincerely,

Nick Mueller
WGBA Board President

P.S. WGBA will have a tabletop display at the Better Buildings: Better Business Conference on March 6 & 7. Stop by if you're attending. Learn more here
