Dear WGBA Friends, At this important time of transition at WGBA, I'd like to share several thoughts of appreciation and excitement. We, of course, have a slew of fantastic programs scheduled, and you can find more information on how to participate on our website and in this e-blast. However, there are a handful of items that I really wanted to highlight. First, I want to extend a very special thank you to everyone who has reached out to welcome me in my new role as Interim Executive Director. The warm reception has been wonderful, and it only further fuels my dedication to support this amazing organization and its community. It truly is a privilege to work with WGBA's dedicated staff, volunteers and with the Board of Directors, as now a staff member and not as a Board member. Second, I want to share with you the exciting news that later this month we will be launching the registration site for the 10th annual SE2 conference that will be held on October 4th. Staff and volunteers have been working diligently to pull together a fantastic lineup of speakers and conference events, and I cannot wait to share it all with you. The Sustainable Communities conference theme has been an inspiring topic, and we believe that you will find this year's event as thrilling as we do. So, be sure to watch for the official launch and sign on early, because space is limited. Third, my continued appreciation goes out to our many volunteers who give so generously to this organization. Your time and energy are greatly appreciated. WGBA would not be what it is today without you. To say the least, I am looking forward to working with all of you during this transitional time to ensure that WGBA continues to grow and prosper now and in the future. Lastly, I have had the distinct pleasure of accompanying Board members to many listening sessions that were arranged with our sponsors and members. As WGBA transitions into a full USGBC Chapter, we have a wonderful opportunity to use this time as a catalyst for positive change. However, to do this effectively WGBA needs to take a hard look at who we are and where we want to be. Your input will be invaluable as we progress through this time of evaluation, and we are going to continue to reach out to many of you to assist us with this. During this time of transition, your suggestions and comments are always welcome. Be in touch, either by phone, email, or better yet . . . stop by.
Warm regards, Korinne Haeffel, LEED AP Interim Executive Director
