 Dear WGBA Friends, We have so much going on right now, I don't know where to start! We have a lot of exciting news to share: - A big welcome to our newest bronze level sponsor, Johnson Controls! Wisconsin is home to several global leaders in the sustainable built environment including Johnson Controls. JCI has supported WGBA in many different ways during our fifteen year history. Most recently at the conference and Board levels. Clay Nesler gave an excellent keynote at the SE2 last year and we are proud to have Kim Hosken and Paul Poblocki as Board members. JCI has also come forward as a Silver level sponsor of the 2013 SE2 conference. Thanks so much to Clay Nesler, Dean Henderson, Kim Hosken, and Paul Poblocki, for working together to support the Wisconsin Chapter of the USGBC!
- A huge thank you goes out to Recycled Office Environments of Stevens Point, WI. ROE is another new bronze level sponsor. Jeff Budelier, President of ROE, has been working with WGBA for the last few months to design a beautiful furniture plan for the WGBA Milwaukee office. Installed in May, the furniture is remanufactured Herman Miller with environmentally friendly paint and recycled panel fabric with agri-board work surfaces. It is also completely donated at a value of $20,000. We are so grateful for this much needed make-over of our office and also proud to support and showcase this great Wisconsin company that diverts tons of steel a year, from the landfill. Thanks to Jeff Budelier, Jeff Dittl, and Dan Putz for all the time and effort they put into this beautiful installation. Pictures and details to come!
- A recent USGBC grant has allowed us to create a full-time, revamped, Program Manager position. Check out the job description here and by all means send the word out to your friends and colleagues. The position is located in the WGBA Milwaukee office and has a competitive salary and benefits package.
- SE2 planning is well underway. Keynotes have been selected, sponsors are starting to fill up and the call for presenters is over tomorrow. Check out the educational session topics and fill out an application if you see something you want to present! Also, we are accepting entries to the SE2 Awards until July 19th. Conference registration will be launched July 1st.
- This year's conference brings many exciting new speakers and education sessions including our very popular LEED v. 4 Technical Training session. Our excellent USGBC speaker, Chrissy Macken will again be giving this three hour session. She will be in town to give an educational session at the conference and we asked her to give the LEED v.4 session the day before at WGBA. Register soon before all the seats fill!
