September 25, 2012 Dear WGBA Friends and Colleagues, Many of you have heard of USGBC's newest exciting initiative "Green Apple" and the first Green Apple Day of Service which is this Saturday, September 29th. Green Apple is a global movement to put all children in schools where they have clean and healthy air to breathe, where energy and resources are conserved, and where they can be inspired to dream of a brighter future. The first annual Green Apple Day of Service will take place on Sept. 29, 2012. For one day, advocates from around the world, including students, teachers, parents, elected officials, organizations, companies and more, will come together in support of healthy, sustainable schools by taking action in their communities. There are five Green Apple Day of Service Projects happening in Wisconsin this Saturday. Milwaukee Power Pack
Milwaukee Shines is teaming up with MREA to launch a pilot solar purchase program called the Milwaukee Power Pack. The Milwaukee Power Pack program, the first of its kind in the United States, will market solar in a new way while utilizing existing modified PACE financing to provide no upfront cost installations. The program supports local manufacturers, builds a customer base for local installers, and makes solar more affordable for customers. Utilizing funding sourced from local credit unions while supporting local manufacturing and simultaneously dramatically lowering installation costs, the Milwaukee Power Pack program is worth learning about. Please join them for a webinar on Wednesday, September 26 at 12pm PDT/3pm EDT to learn about the Milwaukee Power Pack. Register Here. See you all at SE2! |
