FREE ENTRY TO WALES RALLY GB FOR ONE LUCKY ALDERSHOT RALLY FOR HEROES CREW

ALDERSHOT RALLY for HEROES are delighted to announce that one lucky competitor will win a free entry to contest the final round of the 2015 FIA World Rally Championship, Wales Rally GB.

Introduced in 2013 to revitalise the concluding round of the WRC, the highly successful "Road to Wales" initiative enabled winning competitors from a wide range of championships to secure a free entry to the event; with no British Rally Championship this year, the offer has been extended to organising clubs of previous constituent rounds.

As a result, Southern Car Club and Farnborough District Motor Car Club are proud to announce that ALDERSHOT RALLY for HEROES is a qualifying event for the prize, which will offer the opportunity to compete alongside the world's best drivers on the November showdown.

However, rather than simply awarding this superb prize, worth up to 1500, to the outright rally winner, the organisers have chosen to give all competitors in all classes a chance of winning.

First, 2nd and 3rd overall, first overall in the historic section and all the class winners will be entered into a draw on publication of the final results. One lucky crew will be picked from a hat and will be awarded this prestigious prize. The winner will then have the opportunity to select whether to contest the full International event, or the National section of Wales Rally GB.

"The Road to Wales has proved a huge success and we had no hesitation in continuing the initiative in 2015," said Ben Taylor, Managing Director of Wales Rally GB. "Wales Rally GB needs to be not only the climax of the WRC, but also a fantastic end-of-season festival to celebrate the very best of British rallying. The Road to Wales makes sure that some of this country's best will be on the stages in November."

"This is a fantastic prize and we would like to thank IMS for their generosity" said Michael Weeks. "You never know," said his fellow Joint Clerk of the Course, Steve Castle "we could have an ALDERSHOT RALLY for HEROES competitor on the podium in Wales. It allows EVERYONE the chance to dream!"

Entries are still open for ALDERSHOT RALLY for HEROES, which is scheduled to run on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 April 2015 and aims to raise awareness and funds for the charity, Help for Heroes.
