"I'm retiring; it's not tongue in cheek. I'm going to take a year to enjoy the fishing and see what life brings" (Ross Brawn in the Daily Telegraph, 1 February 2014)

On Monday 14 July, hear from a legend of world motorsport, Ross Brawn, OBE, who announced his retirement from Formula One earlier this year. . . or did he?. . Will he return?

This marvellous evening, raising funds for the Motorsport Foundation and SKIDZ, will allow you a rare opportunity to hear this inspirational story - from apprentice at Harwell to undisputed F1 World Champion. Tonight Ross 'returns home' for, in 1976, he joined Williams as a milling machinist. . . what a journey since!

While Ross was with Williams, they won their first F1 Constructor's and Driver's titles (Alan Jones) in 1980 and further titles for Constructors in 1981, and Drivers in 1982. As Technical Director of TWR Jaguar, he led them to victory at Le Mans in 1990, and the World Sportscar Championship in the spectacular, purple Silk Cut XJR-14 the following year.

Ross won an incredible 16 titles in Formula One - eight drivers' and eight constructors'. At Benetton, he gained a reputation as a master strategist, winning the title with Schumacher in 1994 and 1995. He went on to win six consecutive constructors' titles with the Ferrari 'dream team' alongside Michael Schumacher, before winning with his own team, Brawn GP in 2009.

In its first and only year in F1, Brawn GP with Mercedes-Benz engines, took eight victories, winning the World Constructors' Championship and the World Drivers' Championship with Jenson Button. In 2010, Mercedes AMG PETRONAS bought Brawn GP, and Ross continued as Team Principal until his retirement late in 2013.

This fascinating evening begins at 18.00 with a drinks reception, where you will make new friends and business contacts while enjoying the magnificent Williams Grand Prix Collection. A superb dinner follows, after which Chris Aylett will interview Ross from 21.00, encouraging questions from the audience.
