TRIPLE-HEADER AND MINI ENDURO SUPPORT RACES FOR THE 360 6-HOUR AT DONINGTON ON 3 AUGUST

The 360 Motor Racing Club is pleased to announce that there will be a triple-header support race for sportscars at the 360 at Donington this 3 August.

The 15-min qualifying and three 20-min races will be open to production sportscars and roadsports, such as Mazda MX5s and Caterhams.

360 has created a "the more you race, the less it costs" system for these races: if you only buy one race, it costs 190; if you buy two entries, it costs 269; if you buy all three, it costs just 335 - that's 75 mins of track time.

If you buy two races or more, you can have two drivers and there will be podiums in all three races.

There is also an allcomers Mini Enduro in the shape of "The Placement Group Full English Sprint" - a 20-min / 40-min one or two driver race with a mandatory pit stop.

It's the first time the 6-Hour has been held at Donington (it is usually held at Snetterton), but the circuit move has proved popular with the regulars of this two to four driver event.

An eclectic mix of cars will attend, with the race having seven classes separated by age, then subdivided by engine size, as well as an invitation/relay class for cars in the spirit of the event.

The event is being broadcast around the world by Radio Le Mans, who this year also has a team entered in the 6-Hour for the charity The Stroke Association. Claire Smith, chairwoman of 360 Motor Racing Club, explains: "There are several people related to 360 and without whom it could not have got off the ground that we know have been affected by stroke; the only reason we know this now is because, in 2011 our race director and co-founder John Smith suffered a terrible stroke and it was then that we saw at first hand what great work The Stroke Association does. We wanted to somehow do something as a kind of thank you, so we thought why don't we have a team in the 6-Hour and people can sponsor them. . .we just needed a car!"

The car comes by way of a previous winner in the 6-Hour, Mike Bell's 924 Porsche, and he will be the team manager. The car will also carry the number 67 as a mark of respect for Christian Devereux, who died earlier in the year at Donington and who participated in the 360.

"Christian was a great supporter of the 360 and both John and I knew him very well in racing terms; we were - like all in the motorsport world - devastated by his loss and we think that its fitting that his number is once again in the 360.

The car will be driven by Radio Le Mans' John Hindhaugh, along with Paul Dunk and previous 360 driver David Smith; another mystery guest driver is still to be announced.

Entry for the six-hour is 1299.
