Poster contest with cash prizes announced. Our homegrown campaign "Healthcare4MeInTheIE" is raising awareness about studying, living and serving as a healthcare professional in the Inland Empire. The campaign began as a series of videos featuring local health pathway students who want to serve their communities. The second phase of the campaign is a poster contest sponsored by Azusa Pacific University School of Nursing. The call for abstracts is out now and we have supplied instructions as well as judges criteria for the contest. The contest will include monetary awards as well as other prizes. We hope you will join this movement to fill the healthcare gap in the Inland Empire region.
2016 Health Professions Conference seeks your sponsorship!
The Inland Coalition is preparing for the 2016 Health Professions Conference to be held on Thursday, March 17, at Cal Baptist University for 500 young men and women of high school age studying for a career in healthcare. This FREE conference offers students opportunities to learn more about various health professions, college preparation and resources to successfully achieve their dreams. All of this is made possible by volunteers, sponsors, and health professionals who donate their time. We need to raise $25,000 and you can help! We have provided a sponsorship letter for your agency or organization asking for your support. To see highlights from 2015 HP Conference visit our website.
The Reach Out 10th Annual Health Fair a huge success! The Inland Coalition and students from the Palomares Health Sciences Academy (pictured below) hosted the health career corner demonstrating different careers to community members of all ages.
Careers included Pharmacy Technician, Physician Assistant, Dental Hygienist, Lab Technician and more. There a was a special coloring table for the little kids. A small prize was given to those who completed activities at all four career stations or completed a health-related coloring page. Special thanks to IEHP and other agencies that donated the prizes. Palomares also had a separate tent where students demonstrated how to take blood pressure and provided free information. The students were dressed in their scrubs and lab coats and conducted themselves in a professional manner despite the soaring heat. A good time was had by all!
