Our Mission

The mission of the Dunham Fund is to honor the legacy of
John C. Dunham.
In that spirit, the Fund supports organizations that work to make the world a more comfortable, safer place for mankind to live and prosper, giving special consideration to Aurora-area organizations engaged in providing education and to organizations engaged in assisting individuals to attain heights they may not have attained without the benefit of such assistance.

Dunham Fund supports

The Dunham Fund awarded Mooseheart Child City and School a $100,000 grant to support the upgrade of the technology infrastructure both to Mooseheart School and residence homes on the Mooseheart campus. The technology upgrade includes a physical infrastructure upgrade to support increased bandwidth necessary for computers, laptops, tablets, and iPads to be used simultaneously and successfully in the school and in the residence homes.  This will allow access to online educational programs and opportunities, thereby leveling the playing field for the children of Mooseheart with the use of 21st century technology.

Founded in 1913, Mooseheart is supported completely through private donations, the great majority of which come from the 1.1 million men and women of the Moose fraternal organization, in more than 1,700 lodges and 1,600 chapters throughout the U.S., Canada, Great Britain and Bermuda. Moose International headquarters is on the Mooseheart campus. Since its founding, Mooseheart has operated a complete, accredited kindergarten through high school academic program, plus art, music, vocational training and interscholastic sports. It has an average student/teacher ratio of 12:1. Mooseheart is currently home to more than 200 students, ranging in age from preschoolers to high school seniors. Applications for admission to Mooseheart are considered from any family whose children are, for whatever reason, lacking a stable home environment.
