Award-Winning Singer/Songwriter Richard Martin headlines the
Second Saturday Community CoffeeHouse on October 10th

Laurianne Fiorentino Opening

Edgewood, October 10th, 2015 - The Second Saturday Community CoffeeHouse offers up another great night of family entertainment this month with Laurianne Fiorentino opening up for Richard Martin.

Richard Martin is an award-winning singer/songwriter from Northern New Mexico. He grew up working the ranches of Eastern New Mexico. This gave him and his brother Glenn, who co-writes with him, an honest perspective of cowboy life and ways that come out in their songs and music.

Richard has recorded five CDs including "Bringing Water to the Land", "Morning Coffee", "Fall Roundup", "Many a Mile" and "Old Houses".   His third CD "Morning Coffee" was nominated and was a finalist for album of the year at the Western Music Association Annual Awards Show in Albuquerque where he was showcased twice.

He has performed at multiple venues including live interviews on multiple radio stations including several NPR stations, multiple Cowboy Gatherings including in Texas and The Ft. Worth Stock Show, New Mexico, Colorado, California, Washington, and several in Canada, the Western Music Association National Show, and the New Mexico Music Awards Show where he has been a fifteen time finalist and won multiple awards.

His music has been reviewed in Western Way, American Cowboy, Canadian Cowboy Country, and the New Mexico magazines as well as CowboyPoetry.com.  Richard is an active member of Western Music Association, Academy of Western Artists, International Bluegrass Music Association, Americana Music Association, and The Recording Academy (Grammy 365).

Laurianne Fiorentino delivers a musical experience bordering on ritual and ceremony. With voice, guitar, bamboo flute, harmonica and ocarina, this international touring artist is renowned for weaving surprisingly sensual lyrics into a sound-scape of intricate rhythms and melodies.

Nominated for Artist Of The Year by the Nat'l Acad. Of Songwriters (LA), Critics'Choice at NXNE (Toronto) and FolKrawl (Memphis), festival hit at The First Southern Roots & Blues Festival (Tasmania, Australia), and "one of the best performers on the scene" in Ireland, Laurianne has performed as a headliner and support in major festivals and concert halls in both hemispheres.

Her bamboo flute, harmonica, and invented vocal music has been included in movie and live theater soundtracks.

Join us for coffee or tea, treats, and a wholesome family night in a listening room environment where new and seasoned performers can offer up their songs and stories to an attentive, all-ages audience. The House opens at 6 pm, music begins at 6:30.

FREE!  Love Offerings will be accepted.

The mission of the Second Saturday Community CoffeeHouse is to provide the East Mountains with quality musical experiences in a family-style, listening-room environment.  The events, along with snacks and beverages, are family friendly and free to the public.  The House opens at 6 pm and the performance starts promptly at 6:30.

Held the second Saturday of each month, the events consist of an Opening Act and a Headliner except for two Open Mics per year.  The CoffeeHouse hosts both professional and amateur musicians and performers of all ages.  The response has been so positive that the event is already booked into 2016.

Each month's event is sponsored by a local business, family, or individual.  This month no one has stepped up yet to sponsor the night for a $25 donation.

The CoffeeHouse is held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation (the building formerly owned by the Unity Spiritual Center) at 1 Deanna Lane in Edgewood.  It is located just off Dinkle Road, 1.5 miles east of Mountain Valley Road, and 2.5 miles west of Highway 344.
