This Week

Hello Parents!

Welcome back Titans after a beautiful weekend!  ITBS testing for the eighth grade concluded on Friday, but makeup testing will continue this week.  Tomorrow, Mr. Gamba will perform his fall concert in the gym at 7pm.  This concert is a must see!  Club day will resume on Thursday.

The Principal Advisory Council meeting went well.  We are looking for more to join.  You can pick up application in the front office or the media center.

Thank you PTSA for organizing two successful spirit nights with Chipotle and Baskin Robbins.  I had a blast serving our community and am looking forward to the next one... TBA.

Next month is National Family Engagement Month and I will be hosting a monthly parent coffee and conversation in Café' Elon.  The first meeting will be on Nov. 11th at 9am.

Please join us for our October Parent Workshop, this Wednesday at 8am in the Media Center.  Our two fabulous Language Arts teachers, Mrs. Okiyama and Ms. Schram, will teach parents how to write using the current writing standards.  Parents, you will not want to miss this workshop because the rigors of writing have changed since we were in school.  No longer is the assignment, "What I did I do during Summer Vacation?"  Writing is more complex, so take advantage of the strategies that teachers use to help our children write their very best.

The Reflections breakfast (this morning) was well attended and absolutely amazing! Congratulations to all students for having their Reflections entries selected by our independent judges for Finalist or Honorable Mention recognition.  Click here for grade levels, names and categories.

Have a great week Titans!
Let's Celebrate

Volleyball... Woohoo!!
The boys were victorious against Haynes Bridge this past Friday with a two game sweep!  The girls came up short, after three hard fought games. Our next game is not until next week (11/4) at home against Northwestern.  Start time is at 5p... girls first.

8th grade Trip to South GA
The Georgia History trip is scheduled for March 13 -15, 2016.  We will be traveling with the transportation company that we normally use - Mulvihill Tours.  A trip packet was sent home, with your child.  You also received an email (8th grade parents), with all pertinent documents.  Click here for more details.
