This week at Elkins Pointe

What an exciting week, and we are ecstatic about all of the learning taking place - competitions left and right, and our students showing the community that we are doing great things here at EPMS. Next week we have our visit from AdvanceEd for the district re-accreditation, and we are ready to show them the great things that we are doing here at EPMS.

Let's Celebrate!

Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to our three finalists for Teacher of the Year: Annie Marmiol, Jennifer Okiyama, and Meredith Tongue. Observations and Interviews will take place this Thursday to determine the winner ... stay tuned!

Congratulations Nilay!

One of our students, Nilay Dixit won the Premier Tennis Satellite USTA GA Level 5 Tournament, held at Kenworth Tennis Center in Acworth, GA this past weekend.  This tournament is what's known as a USTA Sanctioned tournament.  They happen every weekend throughout the year with thousands of players all over the nation competing for USTA (United States Tennis Association) ranking points.  With this tournament win, Nilay also brought his Georgia 14u Boys ranking up to an all-time high of #191 (that's out of 607 boys in Georgia with a 14u ranking).  Way to go Nilay!

Honors Breakfasts

Don't forget the Honors Breakfasts are starting next week! Did your child bring home their invitation?

Engaging Lessons

It's always exciting to see our teachers utilizing cross-curricular, hands-on learning to keep their lessons engaging and meaningful. Check out Mr. Rodriguez's Social Studies class using a science experiment to better understand their standards!
