This week at Elkins Pointe

While my week was short at EPMS last week due to the Association for Middle Level Education conference, I have heard many great things about what happened in my absence, and got into several classrooms before I left. I was excited to see our 8th grade teachers preparing students for a mock election! Pictured here is Mr. Kimbrel's class as they prepared for the big day.

Let's Celebrate!

The marquee is finished!  Special thanks to the Titan Paint Team: Christie Robinson, Lee Fox, Jane Sarphie, and Shannon Georgecink.

When is the fruit arriving?

I checked last week and our fruit was "still on the trees," almost ready to be picked. Our tentative delivery date is set for next Tuesday, November 18th. We are hoping to receive the fruit early enough in the day so that we can send a phone blast and have it available for pick up at dismissal. Please go ahead and plan on that date, and stay tuned for further notice.

NFCC Food Drive

November 5th - November 20th : North Fulton Charities and our community needs our help. For Thanksgiving, we will be collecting non-perishable food items for a Thanksgiving meal and grocery store gift cards in $25 increments. Last year we, along with other schools in the area, provided the makings for a Thanksgiving meal to over 850 families! Please help our community and families this year enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving. Your child can bring their donations to their teacher. Click here for a list of most urgently needed items.

Interact Toy Drive

Donate a toy and make a child smile!  The Interact Club is hosting a toy drive for North Fulton Charities for the holiday season.  There will be drop boxes around the school (see upcoming dates).  For additional information, contact Mrs. Steedly, Mrs. Marmiol, or Mrs. Ray-Diaz.

Exam Schedule

Seen here is the Final Exam schedule for the end of the semester. Please remember that all three grade levels will have exams during this time. Of particular note:

  • 6th and 7th grade will take their final exam of the semester, and 8th grade will take a cumulative exam for the entire semester.

  • In addition, some subjects may give exams that are cumulative in nature, such as Math, due to the nature of their curriculum.

  • Some of our 6th and 7th graders are taking field trips as well, which is why students of certain teachers will take their exam for a certain period a bit early.

  • Please make sure that all students are present for exams, and note that any absences without a doctor's note or principal permission will be unexcused.
