This week at Elkins Pointe

I hope that all of you enjoyed your weekend. We closed out our week with a day of celebration. Our second Titan Up event was a lot of fun. Both students and staff were celebrated during lunch, with music, confetti, and laughter. The Friday night football game at Milton was a beautiful night for football, and it's always enjoyable to see our Titan alumni in the stands.

6th Grade Bring Your Parent to School Day

TOMORROW is 6th Grade Bring Your Parent to School Day! This is an annual event where parents have the opportunity to come to school and attend classes with their students for the day. Though we encourage all parents to start in the morning, parents may come later in the day as well. Parents who start in the morning with their students should report to the Media Center by 8:30am to check in, receive their child's schedule, and learn about the day. What do you need to know for now? Come prepared to enjoy the day and remember just what a long day of school your children experience every day. We look forward to seeing you!

Changes to Bell Schedule

We have updated our bell schedule with two features, warning bells and different lunch start and end times to allow for transition. The warning bells will ring one minute prior to the start of each class, to assist our students in transition. Our website has been updated with the new schedule.

Video Usage Policy:

After receiving a few questions regarding last week's notice about the EPMS Video Policy for unrated resources, I wanted to take a moment to clarify. Rather than adding additional language and restrictions to the video policy provided by FCBOE, we will simply utilize the language provided by FCBOE, which clearly states:

Video/audio images, songs, segments, "clips" or films that are not rated, including those found on the Internet, from television shows, or from any other source, must be carefully reviewed in advance for objectionable content by the teacher or faculty member intending to use it. Video/audio segments from Fulton County Schools' official curriculum resources can be used at the appropriate grade levels.

All other unrated video/audio images or recordings that depict real or implied violence toward persons or animals, use profanity, include nudity, or include sexual activity or innuendo should not be used. School system staff should not provide information to students on how to access such video/audio images or recordings outside of class.
