Hello, Titans!
I hope that you all have enjoyed this week as much as we have. Our week included the 8th Grade Writing Test, an Induction for the Junior National Honor Society, our 6th Grade Honors Breakfast, and lots of exciting activities in the classroom.
Things to Celebrate:
- Good luck to all of our students who are competing in the Fulton County Technology Competition this weekend. I look forward to reporting the results next week.
- Congratulations go to Jessi Bowling and Roopsha Bandopadhyay for passing a rigorous two audition process to make Georgia All-State Chorus. They will go to Savannah in late February to sing with the best middle school chorus students in the State!
- We are pleased to report that this year's 6th Grade Honors Breakfast was standing room only, with 51 students receiving Superior Honor Roll and 140 students receiving Excellent Honor Roll. Way to go, Titans!
Things to Know:
- DATE CLARIFICATION: Please remember that the 7th grade honors breakfast will be Tuesday January 29th, and the 8th grade honors breakfast will be Thursday January 31st. If your child received an invitation, please arrive at 7:30 so that we can begin on time.
- Don't forget that our 8th graders will have Career Day this week, on February 6th during 1st and 2nd period. Be sure to ask them about the day and see what it's all about.
- Based on past experiences with the 7th Grade Dance, our P.T.A. has decided to try something different this year. We will not hold the dance on February 7th because we are planning a different event for the 7th graders, possibly a Game Night of sorts. Look for more exciting details to come soon!
- Principal's Chats ... I will host several Principal's Chats in the community this semester. So far, three have been scheduled. On February 5th, I will meet with Rising 6th grade parents for a Coffee Chat here at EPMS, from 10am - 11am. I will also visit Edenwilde on February 26th, at 6:00pm. More dates and locations coming soon.
- Are you interested in the Roswell Junior Hornet Cheer Program? Click here for more details.
- Roswell's Sustainability Committee and Keep Roswell Beautiful are pleased to announce the 2013 Roswell Green Expo is scheduled for Saturday, February 23 at Hembree Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, click here.
Did You Know?
By the end of this year, nearly one third of the EPMS staff will be trained in Shelter Instruction Observation Protocol Strategies? These strategies help students who struggle with reading or language acquisition as they learn contents such as Social Studies, Science, and Math. Similarly, nearly a quarter of our staff will be trained in TAG strategies, so that our teachers can maximize the potential of students. We will continue to learn and grow so that we can find the best ways to serve your children.
Have a great weekend, Titans!
