Hello, Titan Community!
We enjoyed an excellent week last week and these two days, with the Talent Show, the Reflections Reception, a great parent turn out at Greenhouse Apartments last night, and even a Grandparent's Tea this morning. Here are just a few pieces of information and celebration as we go into the holiday.
Things to Celebrate:
- Congratulations to our Math Counts Team who did well at the War Eagle Middle School Math Tournament on November 10th, with Liam Frank placing 10th in the Accelerated Division and bringing home a trophy. Way to go!
- Congratulations go to Zoe Merchant as well, who is a Georgia State Champion for Level 6 USA Gymnastics! She won the All-Around Championship as well as Floor Exercise and Beam for her division. In addition, she placed 3rd on Bars and 5th on Vault in the State of Georgia. She will compete Level 7 in the spring and we wish her all the best.
- Also, congratulations to our Reflections Winners for the 2012-2013 school year. The following students were recognized at the reception on November 15th. EPMS made a good showing, with several winners this year. We are so proud of their hard work and creativity!
- 7th Gr Visual Arts - Henna Mian - 1st Place
- 7th Gr Literature - Jack Rush - 1st Place
- 7th Gr Literature - Abir Razza - Honorable Mention
- 7th Gr Music Composition - Megan Haines Honorable Mention
- 8th Gr Film Prod - Veena Jaipradeep - Honorable Mention
- 8th Gr Dance Choreography - Veena Jaipradeep - 2nd Place
Things to Know:
- Please remember that we ask all parents to use the carpool line at the front of the school, near the field. Students will not be allowed to exit on the C Hall, as we have had too many students crossing through traffic in the parking lot. If you are running too late to get into the carpool parking lot and have an emergency, you may park in the Hembree area and walk to the front of the school to pick up your child. Please reserve this for emergencies only.
- The Roswell Junior Hornet Wrestling Program is excited for this year's quickly approaching season and registration is open. The sport of wresting develops confidence, quickness, strength and agility. Registration is open to Roswell boys and girls ages 7-14. Practices begin November 5th, 2012. For more information and a link to the registration, visit: http://www.roswellwrestling.com/ or email roswellwrestlingclub@gmail.com .
- Remember that the 7th graders will have their Health and Safety Day on the Wednesday after break, November 28th. The students will spend the first half of the day in sessions with community members that work in the Health and Science fields. This is an exciting day for the students, though their schedule is a bit different from normal.
- Also, don't forget that students can take Buddy Pictures on November 28th as well. Students can have pictures made with a group of their friends, as long as all members of the group purchase the picture package for just $10 each. Please be sure your students take advantage of this fun opportunity.
In closing, I would just like to take a moment to thank all of you who encouraged your children to send in Thank You notes for the staff, as I asked you to do last Friday. The messages were well received and could not have been better timed. I am so lucky to be the principal of this school with parents, teachers, and community members like you. You make it a joy for us to come to work each day.
Thank you for all that you do, and have a restful Thanksgiving break.
