Hello, Titans!
We had an amazing Band Concert last night, with the EPMS Titan Band receiving a standing ovation at the Milton Cluster Concert. Dr. Bearden was at the event, and she said that she was blown away by the talent. Kudos to Mr. Wilson for his hard work with the band. Our Volleyball Team had a great game against Crabapple MS, and even though they did not win, they are looking forward to next year's rematch.
Things to Celebrate:
- I am pleased to report that we now have a total of 36 students being served through our Reading with Titans program, with 18 volunteers. These students are building their confidence in reading with each session, and we just cannot thank our Reading Coaches enough!
- Come on out and celebrate our Talented Titans! Mark your calendars for the Talent Show on November 15th at 6:30pm. We hope to see you there.
- Let's celebrate our families as we approach the Thanksgiving Break. Don't forget to invite Grandparents to the Grandparent's Coffee on November 20th at 7:30am.
- Congratulations to Jessi Bowling and Roopsha Bandopadhya for passing the first audition for Georgia All-State Chorus. They will now go on to the second audition in January.
- Also, congratulations to the students listed below for being selected for the Georgia Music Educators Association District V Honor Chorus. The will participate in the Honor Chorus workshop and concert tomorrow and Saturday with the best middle school choristers from our district.
- Join us in celebrating our Veterans for the upcoming Veteran's Day: We would like to take this opportunity to honor and remember all who served our country on this Veterans Day, Sunday, November 11, 2012. Your service and sacrifice is greatly appreciated. Many thanks to our very own EPMS teachers and staff: Joe Wilson, Marines; George Eberhart, Army Reserves; Danielle Skoog, Army. We salute you!
Things to Know:
- Mark your calendars for November 13th for some early holiday shopping! Premier Designs Jewelry has graciously offered to host a fundraiser here at our school. The teacher lunchroom will be set up for parents to check out the jewelry and place orders from 8:00am - 11:00am. 10% of the money will come back to the school, which will be funneled into rewards for students throughout the school year. So come on by and get some early shopping done (or make a wish list of your own)!
- Don't miss our next Community Board Meeting. Linda Schultz will be at Roswell High School on Tuesday, November 13th at 7:00pm.
- Parents who live in or near the Greenhouse Apartment Homes, come on out to Dessert & Dialogue in the leasing office at 6:00pm on November 19th. I have invited Mr. Huff to join me as well, to discuss the schools, your students, and the work we can do together to make them successful. I hope to see a full house.
- ALL AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES are canceled November 19th and 20th, in preparation for the holiday break. Please plan accordingly.
- If you haven't done so yet, mark your calendars for December 17-19 as the Final Exams for this semester. Remember that all three grade levels will be taking assessments, with only 8th graders taking a cumulative test over all material from this semester. Please plan vacation accordingly so that we can have them here for their assessments. Remember that students will not be permitted to take exams early. I will grant special permissions for students to take exams after the winter break, but those requests should be sent to me in advance.
Have a great weekend, Titans!
