Hello, Titans!

We had another lovely week here at Elkins, with comfy pajamas on Monday, crazy hats on Wednesday, a spectacular Band Concert Thursday night, and a good showing of team spirit to close out the week. The students enjoyed their Spirit Week, and we managed to raise $450 toward the 8th Grade Trip Fundraisers in the process. Way to go!

Things to Celebrate:

• Our first Student of the Month was celebrated on October 25th at the Roswell Rotary Club. Jacob Shippel was selected by his teachers as an outstanding student who is dedicated and compassionate, a true role model for his peers. We are proud to call Jacob a Titan!
• Come on out and celebrate our Talented Titans! Mark your calendars for the Talent Show on November 15th at 6:30pm. We hope to see you there.
• Let's celebrate our families as we approach the Thanksgiving Break. Don't forget to invite Grandparents to the Grandparent's Coffee on November 20th at 7:30am.

Things to Know:

• Don't forget that November 6th is a student holiday, for Presidential Elections. Don't forget to vote!
• Mark your calendars for November 13th for some early holiday shopping! Premier Designs Jewelry has graciously offered to host a fundraiser here at our school. The teacher lunchroom will be set up for parents to check out the jewelry and place orders from 8:00am - 11:00am. 10% of the money will come back to the school, which will be funneled into rewards for students throughout the school year. So come on by and get some early shopping done (or make a wish list of your own)!
• Parents who live in or near the Greenhouse Apartment Homes, come on out to Dessert & Dialogue in the leasing office at 6:00pm on November 19th. I have invited Mr. Huff to join me as well, to discuss the schools, your students, and the work we can do together to make them successful. I hope to see a full house.
• If you haven't done so yet, mark your calendars for December 17-19 as the Final Exams for this semester. Remember that all three grade levels will be taking assessments, with only 8th graders taking a cumulative test over all material from this semester. Please plan vacation accordingly so that we can have them here for their assessments.
