Hello, Titans!

We have had an exciting week here at EPMS, with Junior Achievement Day for 6th grade, Reflections Recognition Breakfast for over 50 students, the Staff vs. Student Soccer Game, and a great Principal's Chat after the Community Meeting.

Things to Celebrate:

  • We are so proud of our students who entered the PTA Reflections Program this year. The student work was spectacular, and we have several students moving on to the County Level Competition in November.
  • Congratulations to the student soccer team, who was victorious over the staff soccer team with a score of 4-2. It was a fun game, and everyone enjoyed themselves.
  • The Junior Achievement Day was a smashing success, and the students are excited about what they learned. At the end of the day, the presenters were all ranting and raving about how wonderful our students are - always a note that I love to share.

Things to Know:

  • If you haven't joined the PTA yet, now is the time!  Over 350 parents, teachers and staff have already joined Elkins PTA and we would love to increase that number.  The PTA is having a contest to see which advisement class in each grade can get the highest percentage of participation (the members already signed up will count).   The winning classes will receive a pizza party during lunch.  Contest ends Oct. 26th, so send those Elkins Pointe PTA Membership forms in! And remember, the majority of each membership cost stays at EPMS to provide an enhanced school experience for our students and staff.
  • Please remember that the 8th grade bell schedule will be different next week for ITBS. Only 8th graders will be affected.

  • Don't forget that ITBS testing is coming up for our 8th graders, October 22nd through October 26th. This is an important test for students, as it will help determine their placement in courses not just for their Freshman year of high school, but their Sophomore year as well. Make sure they get plenty of rest each night and come to school with a full tummy, ready to do their best on the test.
  • Attached here please find the letter about the 8th grade Field Trip in the Spring. There are lots of details, and the bottom of the form must be returned. Please take the time to read.
  • Remember that the Talent Show Try Outs are October 29th after school. Make sure that your child is getting their act together and listening to the announcements for details on how to sign up.
  • Don't miss the Elkins Pointe Haunted Movie Night and Costume Contest! MORE
  • I will be at Mimosa Elementary's Math Night on Tuesday, October 23rd at 6:00pm, along with Ms. Carmen Santos, our Parent Liaison for Title I. Please come by if you would like to, and stop by the EPMS table. View the flyer here.

Something to Think About:

  • How well do you know the Strategic Plan for Fulton County? To quote Superintendent Dr. Avossa, "These are big goals, but they are attainable." Click here to learn moreabout the strategic plan for Fulton County Schools and how it will impact your child.

Have a great weekend, Titans!
