Kerry Peck to Discuss Restoration at the National Guardianship Association's Upcoming Seminar
on Guardianship

Managing Partner Kerry R. Peck

The 2013 Colloquium on Guardianship presented by the National Guardianship Association will be held on Thursday, May 17th at the Chicago Marriott O'Hare Hotel. This day-long conference is focusing on Fluctuating Competencies: how to maintain person centered guardianship from inception of guardianship to restoration of rights.

Peck Bloom, LLC Managing Partner Kerry R. Peck will be on a panel from 3:00-4:40 p.m. to discuss restoration. He will be joined by the Honorable Carolyn Quinn and Shay Jacobson, President of Lifecare Innovations, Inc. The panel will explore the identification and evaluation of appropriate candidates along with the steps of the restoration process itself.

The goal of guardianship is to protect the ward in the least restrictive manner possible.  Individuals enter into guardianship at critical junctures in their lives; when their abilities are compromised to a level where they require the guidance and protection of a guardian.  The advances in medical care, mental health care, addiction treatment programs, and life skills programs have resulted in the need for guardians to be vigilant in evaluating the suitability for partial or full restoration of rights.
