January 3, 2013 Dear Sunray Community and Friends,
Trusting that the Holidays have revealed joy and that the time of the Gregorian Calendar New Year inspires each of you to energize and accomplish your life's mission and the expression of your wisdom potential. I trust that you have experienced joy and expanding happiness with your family, friends and co-workers. This past year has been quite full and while not traveling, I've been teaching via the internet and teleseminars from our wondrous Valley! These teachings are the practical application of spiritual insights through my monthly collaboration with Reverend Jennifer Hadley and Masterful Living.
I've taught two Peacekeeper Teachings in the past year. I made a commitment to do the entire seven year Peacekeeper Teaching cycle, which has become far more concentrated, because people do not have the time they once had. As you know, the Peacekeeper curriculum is the heart essence of the Ywahoo lineage teachings. All based upon the lesson taught by my grandparents, that all beings are our relatives. Through the Peacekeeper Teachings, people have the opportunity to make peace within their hearts and offer to the fire of transmutation those thoughts and attitudes, which may obscure accomplishment. I continue to guide the ongoing Peacekeeper Teachings on the West Coast of North America and also in Switzerland and Germany. The teaching of the dance is spreading throughout the world. During the year, I gave teachings and led a retreat. Through Vajradakini Nunnery and Sunray, I've given teachings on the Heart Sutra, Phowa, Vajrayogini, and the Lotus Sutra. I am editing writings on the Five Buddha Families to be released in 2013-2014. And for those who have received initiation, I am refining the Terma Teaching text that I have shared with a few students.
In October, I visited Fairleigh Dickinson University to lecture and then met with the Sunray Community and gave public teachings in New York City. I've also continued international education; working with organizations dedicated to mediating the appearance of differences into paths of skillful cooperation. I continue to work as a consultant, consulting on a veterans and families project, which energizes healings for those returning from war.
This year, I published two books: 108 Quotations and Learning Cherokee Ways: The Ywahoo Path, both of which are available at Amazon.com and can also be purchased through Beautyway Productions. I received an award from the Sultana group for my activities over the years. During the year, I have regular meetings with the Sunray Council and the Elders Council, in addition to continuing to guide individuals with Vision Quests and personal retreats and consultations. I am fundraising for the archiving of thirty-five years of teachings that I've given. Volunteers have stepped forward to do the scanning work. You are invited to participate in raising $3,200 dollars for the purchase of a computer, duplex scanner and appropriate software programs, so that we can look at the teachings shared over the years and extract whatever students require. There are many other teachings that I wish to share with appropriate students, and shall do so in 2013 and 2014. We continue to do fundraising for medical care and support of Native American Elders. And also continue to offer support for the education of Green Mountain Band members, one of whom has successfully completed his first semester in UVM's School of Engineering. And our summer program continues to transmit teachings to all community members. Your support over the years has made these activities possible and I deeply appreciate our ongoing explorations. May you and your relatives realize joy and abundance as the winds of change clear away what is out grown to reveal evermore joy and skillful cooperative activity. Sincerely, Venerable Dhyani Ywahoo |
