Hello all,
I am inspired. I always say that the reason I love being on a school campus is because there is an overall feeling of optimism. Everyone there is looking forward to what is yet unknown in their own lives and careers. There is beauty in that. To me that is what back to school means. To Rhonda back to school means new underwear and a new sweater. Remember laying out your new outfit for the first day back? Good times!
So it is Back to School for Arizona. What does this have to do with roofing? That's easy. We don't just put on roofs, we protect homes and homes have families and we do our best to always bear that in mind.
I often wonder; did we learn anything in school back in the day? Yeah, I admit I was upset when I found out there is a website that writes your footnotes and bibliographies for you. WHAT? How much did you hate writing those things? Yeah, we had to write our own, did not have word processors, scientific calculators that graph for you, and we had to actually physically go to the library to do research. Yet when my children come to me for homework help I am clueless. I am quite confident that I may in fact NOT be smarter than a 5th grader. It is stunning the material these kids are learning and at a very early age. So the technology makes things easier for them, but it can make things easier for us too. Check out the resources I have found to help us, help them be better students. I hope some of this helps. I couldn't have done it without them.
DID YOU KNOW? Lyons Roofing has a "Straight A's" club. Employees can submit copies of their children's report cards to receive Barnes and Noble gift cards. How cool is that?!
As always, thanks for being part of the Lyons Roofing family.
