Thank you for your financial support this year!

Combined with income from tuition and grant support, our fundraiser and annual contributions from our donors provide a critical financial foundation for the school's daily activities, programs and outreach. Each gift, small or large, helps us to serve our students.
There's still time to donate to the CIM before the end of our fiscal year, July 31st.  Thank you!

Greetings to the CIM community,

The summer has arrived!  Over in Miltown Malbay, Willie Clancy Week is buzzing.  Here at the CIM, we are kicking back a little and enjoying the relatively quiet month of July.

Thanks to all of the visiting artists, regional and local teaching artists, volunteers and participants for making the 8th annual Minnesota Irish Music Weekend a massive success!  I'd like to send my gratitude out to the amazing team of MIM organizers led by Jeanne Morales and myself.  This year's planning team was fantastic - lovely, hard-working people who make their dedication to the CIM a reality with offerings of time and talent: Dave McKenna, Greg Padden, Dáithí Sproule, Jo Ann Vano, Emily Flagstad, Mike O'Connor, Becky Bollinger and Erika Nelson.

I'd like to send a massive thank you to Tom Klein for processing the visas for the Mulcahy's.  Our government makes it a significant challenge to bring artists in from Ireland, but we managed it again this year!

"You are doing more than teaching Irish music traditions to a new generation. You are building confidence and passion well outside the state border. Your weekend was more than the weekend of fun we were hoping for." - Valerie Abbott, mother of Bridie who travelled to MIM from Richmond, West Virginia

Here are a few other announcements for July:

-We are look for volunteers for the CIM booth at the Irish Fair of Minnesota on August 7, 8, 9th at Harriet Island.  New volunteers are most welcome!  You can work in pairs, and even play tunes behind the booth.

-Mark your calendars for the annual Open House on Sunday, August 23rd from 2-5pm.  It will include a session, performances by some of our ensembles, demo classes and more!

-Our Office Manager, Erika had a baby boy on summer solstice.  His name is Hugo James Hansen Nelson and he is a gorgeous little chap.  Congratulations, Erika!  Erika will be on maternity leave until mid-September.

Have a wonderful summer, and see you at Irish Fair!!
