The Celtic Junction hosts a monthly ceili from 7-10pm for the whole family! Music by the Twin Cities Ceili Band.
Saturday, August 23rd
Our An Luan adult ensemble will be performing at Amore Coffee in W. St. Paul at 7pm. Come hang out and enjoy coffee and treats while listening to songs and tunes.
Sunday, August 24th

Five CIM Students and
One Instructor Traveling to Ireland for the
Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann!!
Five students from the Center for Irish Music will be traveling to Sligo this week to compete in the Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann. Our harp instructor, Chad McAnally, will also be going with student Siobhán Dúgan.
Hannah Anderson (15yrs) will be competing in English language song and the under-15 duo competition on whistle with Cates Eliasen. Hannah has been studying with Norah for 4 years. Hannah will attend the Scoil Éigse.  |

Maia Crews-Erjavec (17yrs)

will be competing in the miscellaneous instruments category on the cello. This is her second time competing at the fleadh and she has had a wonderful year of music studying with Anna Vasquez on cello with support from AJ Srubas and Norah Rendell (in ensemble). Maia recently returned from Mike Block's String Camp in Florida with support from an IMDA grant.
Cates Eliasen (14yrs) will be competing in the accompaniment category on guitar, the miscellaneous instruments category on guitar and tenor banjo, and in the under-15 duo competition on tenor banjo with Hannah Anderson. Cates has been studying with Brian Miller for at least 4 years. Cates will be attending the Scoil Éigse on tenor banjo.

Hannah Flowers (18 yrs) will be competing in harp slow airs, harp, English language song, and Irish language song. Hannah has been studying with Dáithí Sproule and Chad McAnally and learned one of her arrangements directly from Ailie Robertson when Ailie was recently in Saint Paul! Hannah will be attending the Scoil Éigse.
Adrienne O'Shea (13 yrs) will be competing in Irish language song, tin whistle, and Irish flute. She has been a CIM student since she was very young and has studied with Dáithí, Cory, Norah and Brian. Adrienne will be attending the Scoil Éigse.

Chad McAnally (CIM instructor) will be competing on wire-strung harp in in both the traditional harp and slow airs categories. Chad will be accompanying some of our students for their competitions as well. Thanks Chad, for making the trip to Ireland and supporting our students. We wish you the best in your competitions! Greetings CIM supporters!
Registration is open for our Fall term! You can register online now for group classes and ensembles. Private lessons can be set up directly through Erika. If you have a prefered lesson time (or day) from a previous term, please register as soon as possible to reserve your spot. As always, if you have any questions about programming, feel free to contact me directly and I will try and point you in the right direction or pass you onto one of our wonderful instructors who can answer your questions.
Fall term begins on Monday, September 8th. The deadline to apply for financial aid for Fall is August 15th.
Finally, I am very proud to tell you that CIM has four students and one instructor traveling to Sligo, Ireland later this week to compete in the All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil. Please join me in wishing students Hannah Anderson, Maia Crewes-Erjavec, Cates Eliasen, and Adrienne O'Shea, and instructor Chad McAnally all the very best on their trip and competitions.

|   What could be better than spending three days on beautiful Harriet Island, enjoying the music, dance, culture, and foods of Ireland? We are delighted that CIM has a presence at the Irish Fair of Minnesota each year and contributes to this very special weekend! Visit our information booth to hear the latest about upcoming events, catch performances by many of our ensembles and instructors throughout the weekend, and swing by the Children's Tent for demonstrations for the wee ones. **We need you!** Each year we host a CIM information booth in the marketplace tent. And new this year, we will have an info. table in the Children's Tent on Friday night as well. We humbly ask for your help in staffing these areas. Whether you can fill one slot or several, please take a look at our sign-up list and volunteer as your schedule allows. We appreciate any time that you can give!

CIM offers instrumental and singing classes for children, youth, and adults taught by world-class teachers - both privately and in a group setting. Fall term begins Monday, September 8th and is 17 weeks long. You can register here for group classes. For private lessons, please contact our office manager, Erika. Many of our instructors have full schedules, so we recommend reserving a lesson time as soon as possible.

To celebrate, we have planned group class and instrument demonstrations, a group session, and a recognition ceremony. We will have light snacks, drinks, and a celebratory cake! We encourage newcomers and returning students to join in our anniversary festivities!
