Volunteering at CIM

One of the best things about the Center for Irish Music is our community of involved students, parents, staff, instructors, and community members.  We could not present the events that we do each year here at CIM without you!  There are many opportunities to volunteer each year.  If you are interested in volunteering, please let us know by filling out our Volunteer Form or contacting our volunteer coordinator, Becky Bollinger at volunteer@centerforirishmusic.org.

April 2013
Dear CIM supporters and students,

As we ease our way into spring here in Minnesota, we have so many wonderful events happening!  Please take a moment to peruse the event calendar (column at left), information about CIM's summer camps and classes (article, below), and details about our upcoming Minnesota Irish Music Weekend in June (article, below).

We had a very successful and fun St. Patrick's Day. Many thanks to all of our students, instructors, volunteers, and community members for making our performances and information booth run smoothly.  Special thanks go to the IMDA for providing such a wonderful venue at The Landmark Center for the St. Paddy's Day weekend festivities!  They always arrange such a welcoming atmosphere.

The Minnesota Irish Music Weekend pairs world-class traditional Irish musicians and teachers with learners of all ages and abilities for a weekend of workshops, lectures, dancing, sessions, and a rare and virtuosic Saturday night concert.

For information and registration, visit our website.

MIM offers a half-day beginner program for children ages 7-11,
a 3-day intermediate to advanced program for teens, and a variety of workshops for adults on fiddle, flute, whistle, piano, uilleann pipes, sean-nós song, and more.

Irish music aficionados who may not sing or play an instrument will enjoy the lectures on special topics and interviews of visiting artists hosted by Dáithí Sproule.

The Saturday night Master Concert is a signature event of the Minnesota Irish Music weekend. The concert not only showcases each visiting musician's artistry and repertoire, but offers both classic and unique musical pairings. This year's concert will feature the synchronicity of the Cotters' duet, the legacy of the O'Briens' repertoire, the distinctive vocal styling of Meaití Jó, and the genre-bending virtuosity of McAuley.

Tickets can be purchased for individual events (workshops/lectures/concert), or the entire weekend. Reduced hotel rates are also available.
