Éigse [eg-shuh] is an Irish word used for festivals celebrating traditional Irish arts and culture. It is in this spirit that we gather for an evening to raise funds for The Center for Irish Music and the mission of handing down traditional Irish music.

BEGINNING THIS WEEKEND AT CIM:  Paddy O'Brien Tune Collection/Apprenticeship Project

Paddy O'Brien

Accordionist and tune collector Paddy O'Brien (originally from Co. Offaly) recently received a Folk and Traditional Arts grant from the MN State Arts Board to record another 500 melodies for The Paddy O'Brien Tune Collection. As part of the project, Paddy will be acting Artist-in-Residence at the Center for Irish Music offering free workshops on Sunday afternoons to interested CIM students and teachers of all melody instruments.

A full description of the project and details are on the Student Info tab at the CIM website.

Please note that participants must be current CIM students and able to attend at least seven out of the nine sessions to take advantage of this amazing opportunity!  Recording devices are mandatory.

Every 2nd & 4th Sunday from 2:30-4pm, February 10-June 9.
