January 2013
Happy New Year!
2013 is off to a great start here at the CIM!
Looking back, 2012 was a particularly wonderful year for the CIM including the creation of two new ensembles, three new children's classes, and class offerings in Irish language and mythology from Dáithí Sproule.

In 2012, we honored young fiddler and uilleann piper Emiliano Morales with the Timothy Fitzgerald Memorial Scholarship and celebrated with the Advanced Youth Ensemble as they travelled to the midwest fleadh in Chicago qualifying to compete in the international
Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann in the gruppa cheoil and the ceili band categories.

This year, we are looking forward to many new frontiers for the school including Paddy' O'Brien's Tune Collection Project and the 6th annual Minnesota Irish Music Weekend June 13-16.

In the meantime, however, now is the time to reserve your tickets for Eigse CIM: A Gaela Event on February 23rd, and to register for a new class during spring term.

Thank you for taking the time to peruse through this month's dense newsletter!

We look forward to seeing you soon,
-Norah Rendell
Executive Director
