One of the best things about the Center for Irish Music is our community of involved students, parents, staff, instructors, and community members.  We could not present the events that we do each year here at CIM without you!  There are many opportunities to volunteer each year.  If you are interested in volunteering, please let us know by filling out our Volunteer Form or contacting our volunteer coordinator, Becky Bollinger at volunteer@centerforirishmusic.org.

Happy holidays from all of us at CIM...

We have so much to share with you this month.  Please take a moment to read through all of our news and announcements.

Come share the music our students have been working on this semester at one of the celebratory Fall recitals this Sunday, December 9th in Studio 1 at the Celtic Junction.  It's truly one of the highlights of the year and an event not to be missed!  Recitals are open to the public. Don't forget that there is a potluck following each recital, so please bring a treat to share.

  • 1:00-2:00pm Youth Recital 1 for younger students
  • 2:30-3:30pm Youth Recital 2 for youth students in ensemble classes
  • 4:30-6:30pm Adult Recital
Financial Aid Application Deadline 
Make sure you have submitted your application by December 15th.  For those reapplying, you only need to submit which classes you would like to take in the Spring term and submit them to Erika by email.  Applications are always available on our website here

Thank you for supporting the CIM on Give to the Max Day!  On November 15th, we received an overwhelming show of community support and blew past our goal before 1:00pm!  We'd like to express particular thanks for the leadership of Kieran Folliard of  2Gingers Irish Whiskey Co., Maeve and Liam of Irish On Grand, Bob & Arlene Jones of the Farm on St. Mathias and the CIM Board members, Mike Lynch, Mike O'Connor and Jeanne Morales for their generous challenge fund donations.

Spring Registration is open!

Peruse the course offerings and plan your spring semester now.  Spring semester runs 16 weeks from January 28th-May 26 with the recitals on Sunday, May 5th.  The registration deadline for multi-family discounts is January 25th. Register here. 

 

Capital Grant 

The Center for Irish Music is pleased to announce it has received a $2,626 capital grant award from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council. The funds will be used to purchase new chairs for the classrooms and storage units to house the Center's instruments and supplies.  CIM was one of 20 organizations to receive funding.

 

 
Finally, thank you to all who came to the special holiday family session this past Sunday.  We had many first-time visitors and lovely tunes - let's do it again soon!

JUNE 13th-16th - MINNESOTA IRISH MUSIC WEEKEND 
Planning is already underway to bring you the best in traditional Irish music instruction!  Plan for a weekend full of workshops, get-togethers, and a concert with our visiting artists.
