Night at the Races was a success and was enjoyed by guests, volunteers, and CASA staff alike! Because of your generosity and commitment to our cause, we are able to train and supervise more dedicated volunteers who will work to fight for the basic human rights of abused and neglected children here in Adams and Broomfield counties.

Each year, in Adams and Broomfield Counties, there are over 1,300 children who are in need of a caring, committed CASA Volunteer. Your support will help us meet our 2020 Vision goal of serving 100% of the children in need by the year 2020.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

We are always in need of new CASA Volunteers to help support the children we serve. For more information, please contact Sara Boon, Outreach & Recruitment Coordinator, at 303.655.3924 or [email protected].

March Advocate of the Month
Tamme Cooper

Tamme Cooper lives in Broomfield and works with HunterDouglas, a proud CASA partner. She loves babysitting her grandkids and spending time fishing with her family. HunterDouglas gives their employees the opportunity to take time off while volunteering at a nonprofit organization, and after doing some online research for non-profit organizations in the area, Tamme thought CASA was the best fit for her. She was sworn in as a CASA Advocate in July of 2013 and has since had three cases with 13 kiddos total. READ MORE
CASA Day at the Capitol
Join us as we talk to our legislators about the importance of CASA!

Please join us on Monday, March 21st from 8:00AM - 12:00PM for our annual CASA Day at the Capitol!  This event is for everyone - new CASA volunteers, those CASA's with years of experience, and the CASA staff.  This special day is an opportunity for you to meet with legislators and share with them information about the important work we do.  Conversations can range from a general overview about CASA to discussions on specific concerns or bills that might be affecting a particular CASA program.

We will meet at Central Presbyterian Church (1660 Sherman Street, Denver) to kick off the event with a light breakfast and speeches from a few state senators and representatives. Before heading over to the capitol, our lobbying consultants from Mendez Consulting will be offering tips and advice on how to meet with legislators. We will then organize into groups and head to the capitol to find our legislators and spread the word about CASA. We have always been warmly welcomed during this event and look forward to another great day of informing our lawmakers about the important work we do.

Following CASA Day at the Capitol, we hope you will stay for the Children's Caucus from 12:00 - 1:15PM where the relevant topic is "Kinship Care: Maintaining Stable Familial Relationships."

Please register for this event HERE before March 15th. We look forward to seeing you on March 21st!

Recognizing CASA partners involvement in the community
Ted & Lina Shipman Sponsor Video
Ted & Lina Shipman Kaleidoscope of Hope Sponsor Video

We are proud to recognize Ted & Lina Shipman as our Benefactor partner. "Benefactor" Partners are a group of individuals and businesses that provide support for abused and neglected children at the $50,000 or more level per year.

Ted Shipman is currently the Managing Principal at the real estate development firm The Bromley Companies, that is headquartered in Greenwood Village and develops retail/commercial centers, industrial parks, and multi family residential communities. As our Benefactor partner, Ted & Lina's support ensures that the best interests of children in need in Adams & Broomfield Counties are represented in court.

Ted & Lina have been involved with CASA for more than fifteen years, since the Adams & Broomfield Counties branch was established in 2000. Ted also has generously volunteered his time and efforts to help grow our organization by serving on CASA's Advisory Board. In addition to the support CASA receives, Ted & Lina are also involved with many other organizations such as The Adoption Exchange, the Alzheimer's Association, the Brighton Chamber of Commerce, and the Brighton Economic Development Corporation.

"We are so fortunate to have Ted & Lina Shipman's support of the CASA mission," said Executive Director, Lindsay Lierman. "They have been invaluable partners and the community will see the positive impacts as many children thrive from their big hearts."

Partners like Ted & Lina Shipman play a vital role to help change the lives of abused and neglected children here in our community. Their generosity allows CASA Volunteers to provide children with a voice when their circumstances have brought them into our court systems.
Window Covering Safety Council Partnership
We are excited to partner with Hunter Douglas for this partnership!

CASA has teamed up with the Window Covering Safety Council (WCSC) and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to urge parents and caregivers to check their window coverings for exposed or dangling cords that can pose a strangulation hazard to infants and young children, and to retrofit or replace them with today's safer products.

The partnership stems from a deep-rooted commitment to ensure that ALL children are safe in their homes. Since CASA Volunteers visit the homes and foster homes of children they work with, the partnership is a perfect fit. All CASA Volunteers are trained to share window covering safety information with the parents, foster parents, and caregivers they come into contact with.

To learn more about window-cord safety, or to order free retrofit kits, go to the Window Covering Safety Council's website HERE.

Help Spread the Word about CASA!
A message from Sara Boon, Outreach & Recruitment Coordinator

Hello CASA supporters! As you know, CASA of Adams and Broomfield Counties is always trying to spread the word about our amazing organization in order to serve more children in our community. Our fantastic volunteers experience first-hand how impactful the advocate role can be. We would love to hear your input about how to get more people involved! Do you work for an employer who may be interested in hosting a CASA presentation? Do you attend a church in the area with members that you believe could be interested in learning more? How about a club or community group?

Harnessing some of the untapped potential among our incredible volunteers could open some HUGE doors for CASA! Do you have a "door" to open? If so, please contact me, Sara Boon, Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator with CASA of Adams and Broomfield Counties, to discuss the details at (303) 655-3924 or [email protected]Thank you for all that you do!
CASA at Colfax Marathon
Join us to raise money and spread awareness!

Are you CASA Strong? We are proud to announce that CASA of Adams & Broomfield Counties will be one of the charities participating in the Colfax Marathon on the weekend of May 14th! This is a great opportunity to raise awareness about advocacy for abused and neglected children in our community.

The Colfax Marathon offers multiple races over the course of the weekend, and you can choose to run on behalf of CASA as a member of "Team CASA"! We need 20 athletes to participate on our team in order to receive proceeds from the race and to spread awareness of our mission. With roughly 1,300 children in need of a CASA volunteer each year in Adams and Broomfield Counties, it is a critical time for the local population to become educated and to provide the motivated participants (and supporters) of the Colfax Marathon an opportunity to get involved.

If you are CASA Strong, come out and support Team CASA on on May 14th or 15th and help us raise money and spread the word about CASA!

If you have any questions about joining our efforts or the CASA Strong Campaign, please contact Tanya Camunas, Program Director, at [email protected].
