Downeys

Downey's is thrilled to join the community in celebrating the 14th anniversary of its Easter festival, which has steadily grown in popularity over the years. This year's Easterfest promises to be as exciting as ever, with five full days of activities and entertainment for family members of all ages, on March 28 & 29, and on Easter weekend, April 3, 4, & 5 2015 from 10am - 5pm.

Festivities include face painting, craft, wagon rides, visit with farm animals, puppet shows, and performances by magician Steve Baker of Abracadabra Magic. And once again, children will be able to take part in the Easter Egg Scramble- scrambling to find colourful plastic eggs scattered by the Easter Bunny and helpers, and exchanging their egg collection for an Easter basket of treats.

Festival-goers will also be able to buy Easter treats and baked goods, including Downey's famous pumpkin donuts, from the Downey Bakery.

Tap into spring this March

As cold days melt away and the season of hibernation comes to a close, we start to see signs of spring all around us. The new season brings warmer temperatures, returning birds, blooming flowers and, a Canadian favourite, maple syrup!

Throughout the month of March, maple trees are producing sap and sugar shacks are steaming.

Your local conservation areas offer an opportunity to connect with nature as you learn about how maple syrup is made, and enjoy tasty samples.

A visit to Terra Cotta Conservation Area, Bruce's Mill Conservation Area or Kortright Centre for Conservation promises entertainment for the whole family. Each park is host to the Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival and offers demonstrations, wagon rides and activities. And don't forget the pancakes and real maple syrup!

We promise a tasty time for all. The festival runs through March and Easter Weekend. Admission is FREE if you are a member of the parks. Learn more about the festival at http://maplesyrupfest.com/
