With the world arriving at our doorstep for the equine events of the 2015 Pan American Games, it seems clear that now, more than ever, is the time to position the region as an international venue for equestrian events and a centre of equine excellence in Ontario. The legacy of the Games will provide Headwaters Horse Country a unique opportunity to become one of North America's top equine destinations.

The Hills of Headwaters Tourism Association has just released a tourism focused 2015 Pan American Games Strategy. This strategy is intended to accomplish three goals:

  1. To brand & position Headwaters as Horse Country.
  2. To support our communities and our business operators through legacy tourism development that will live well beyond the duration of the 2015 Pan American Games.
  3. To provide a memorable experience for visitors to the Games by leveraging and promoting our unique ancillary experiences, which will support the positioning of Headwaters as a sophisticated, rural destination, just a short drive from Canada's largest urban centre.

Evening-of-Celebration
An Evening of Celebration with Headwaters Horse Country

If there was any doubt that the equine sector is important to our community, just speak to the more than 500 enthusiasts who attended our Evening of Celebration with Headwaters Horse Country on October 3, 2013.

Visitors networked with fellow equine enthusiasts while experiencing a full program of equestrian performances, forging demonstrations, local beverages and culinary delights.

Herb Williams, the founder and long-time leader of the Super Dogs show, was the Master of Ceremonies for the event which featured the equine talents of superb athletes from the Headwaters Region.

The evening included presentations of Headwaters Horse Country's recent efforts to promote this region as a centre of equine excellence.

We would like to thank our presenting sponsors, Dufferin.Biz and the Town of Caledon, our banner sponsors and all of the individuals and organizations that donated their time and products/services to make the evening a success.

Further details, event information and a list of sponsors and contributors can be found on our website.
