Royal Ontario Museum - What's On for Families

Artifact: BM124939 Gardens at Nineveh Stone relief, 656-635 BCE. Photo: Royal Ontario Museum.

Step Away from that Tablet and See Where It All Started!

Pull your kids away from the Xbox and spend time as a family exploring a real historical realm - one that's very relevant to our world today.

The world we live in was born in Mesopotamia more than 3,000 years ago. Now on display for a limited time only, the special exhibition Mesopotamia: Inventing our World comes from the British Museum and features over 170 priceless objects

spanning thousands of years of human history, most never before seen in Canada.

Older children and teens will enjoy learning about the land "between the rivers", home to the world's first great cities and the birthplace of writing, codified laws, urban planning, long-distance trade, and empire-building.
