Jefferson County Fish Dish Review Crew

Linda's Lookout - Grellton

Fish Fry

Linda's Lookout

N8004 County Road A - Watertown? Johnson Creek? Grellton!

(920) 699-2137

Looking for that out of the way country bar and grill the locals flock to on Friday nights? Well, your search is over. Located in Grellton...um...where did you say?

OK. Northern Jefferson County

  • North out of Lake Mills on Highway A toward Watertown - 7.8 miles.
  • South from Watertown toward Lake Mills on Hwy A - 5.4 miles.
  • North from Johnson Creek on Highway N - 6.5 miles

Linda's Lookout is where the two roads (A & N) meet. Bustling DOWNTOWN Grellton. :)

Located high on a hill overlooking that wide spot in the Rock River called Hahn's Lake, Lookout diners enjoy a truly spectacular view of the lake and surrounding countryside from the spacious patio on warm, sunny afternoons, or through floor-to-ceiling windows from the comfort of the spacious dining room and bar during those days you just want to be inside.

Owner Linda has built a Friday fish fry menu sure to please everyone in your group.

Hot and crunchy, the cod & chicken combination arrived accompanied by sweet and tangy coleslaw, that we all agreed was some of the best we'd had in our Friday Fish Fry Review travels. The tartar sauce was subtle - not overdone - and the rye bread soft and tasty with a hint of caraway. The star of the accompaniments was the potato pancakes. These delicate babies come out thin and hot with a hint of crispiness and a flavor that exploded on the palate. The potato cakes are SO good that they almost don't need the applesauce and syrup! We asked for the recipe and our waitress told us she'd have to kill us if she was silly enough to pass it along. They are that good.

The bluegill was pronounced soft and sweet on the inside and crunchy on the outside, while the fantail shrimp were plentiful and satisfying.

Prices? Downright reasonable from the basic fish fry to all the options including well-made cocktails.

Linda's is clean and comfortable. We met folks we knew, some from as far away as Fort Atkinson!

Reasonably priced, laid back and downright tasty, Linda's Lookout will have us coming back again and again. A true Jefferson County gem!

October Events in Jefferson County

(Please double-check our website to verify dates and times.)

Through October 27, 2013 - ONCE UPON A MATTRESS

Once Upon a Mattress Many moons ago in a far off place, lived a handsome prince with a gloomy face . . . For he could not find a bride.

The Princess and the Pea is one of the best known fairy tales of all. You may think you know this time honored tale but let us tell you the real story in one of Broadway's happiest shows and one of The Fireside's most popular productions in our history  - ONCE UPON A MATTRESS. This show turns that well known fairy tale on its ear with the story of Princess Winifred of the swamps and Prince Dauntless the Drab and their up and down, inside-out love story. Naturally the course of true love never runs smoothly when you have a domineering mother, a conniving wizard, a mute king, and a court full of knights and ladies desperate to get married. Delightful music, beautiful period costumes, and knee-slapping, rib-tickling comedy will fill the theatre with happiness and joy! This is the show that made Carol Burnett a star. When you see ONCE UPON A MATTRESS you'll understand why it has become our most requested show!

Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday Matinee arrival 10:30am, Thursday & Saturday Evening arrival 5:00pm, Sunday midday 2:30pm.
