BROOKLINE DAY ROAD RACE
Sun., 9/18 8:00am Kids 1K, 8:30am 5K @ The Park School Entrance
Mark your calendars for the 4th annual Brookline Day Road Race! The Kids 1K is for kids up to 10 years old, while the 5K is for ages 11 and up. First 400 registrants get a t-shirt and goodie bag filled with giveaways and coupons from local businesses. Food provided for all runners. New this year: the sidecar division for strollers and dogs! VOLUNTEER TO PREVENT CHILD ASSAULT
Application deadline 10/7; training begins 10/15
The Child Assault Prevention Program (CAP) has been empowering elementary age children across the country to be "safe, strong, and free" since 1978. CAP has been approved for expansion in interested Brookline K-8 schools following a successful pilot at Heath. To offer CAP across Brookline, the program seeks to recruit and train "Prevention Specialists", volunteers who commit to 4 hours/month for at least one school year, to build a Brookline CAP Volunteer Taskforce. Oversees the purchasing and selling of Piercewear throughout the year!
