ATTENTION ROOM PARENTS: MESSAGE FROM JEAN SANDLER Hi, I'm Jean Sandler, the incoming Volunteer Coordinator for the Pierce PTO. Part of my role is to act as a liaison between the Room Parents and the rest of the school community. With that in mind, if you haven't already made your wishes known (either to Hillary Janowski last year, or to me), please e-mail me at jean.sandler@comcast.net to let me know if you plan to be a room parent for your kids' classrooms this year. I will then add your names to my list so you can receive information to pass along to your classes. Many thanks in advance!

_______________________________________ NEWS FROM B-PEN (BROOKLINE PARENT EDUCATION NETWORK)
As the school year gets underway, kids have the opportunity to reinvent themselves. They face new classes, new classmates, new teachers, maybe a new look or attitude. All these changes represent developmental milestones, but they bring new expectations and challenges - for you and your kids. B-PEN (Brookline Parent Education Network) offers useful advice for parents on how to navigate these challenges. Learn about limit-setting, parent-to-parent tips, and more at B-PEN's new "TRANSITIONS" page, www.B-PEN.org. _______________________________________

POW #2: BOXED IN
SOLUTION FOR POW #1: ELEVATOR RIDEThe solution could be 37, 38 or 39, depending on how the problem was interpreted. Based on the clues, the halfway point is floor 19. If you add 19 + 19, then the building has 38 floors. If you believe that from floor 19, there are 18 floors above and 18 floors below, then the answer is 36 + 1 (for floor 19) or 37. And if you remembered to include the basement as a floor, then the answer could be 38+1 = 39 or 37 + 1 = 38.
