This year's theme is Piercepalooza, with Karaoke, Live Music, Dancing, a Photo Booth, Silent and Live Auctions. There will be Lite Bites and Libations as well. PIERCE BOOK FAIR IS COMING - WE NEED YOUR HELP!

The annual Pierce Book Fair is scheduled for Tues., 5/27 through Thurs., 5/29. We need your help to make it successful! Two ways you can help:

 

1) Volunteer! We need many hands to help set up the fair on Thurs. & Fri., 5/22 & 5/23. We also need help during the week of the fair. Please sign up here:  

2) Donate books! If every family donates one book appropriate for the grades of each of their children, we'll reach our goals. The donation bin is in front of the main office. Thanks to all of you who have already donated books.

Please remember the town election! In light of the current school overcrowding situation, it is important that parents with kids in Brookline's schools are heard. Make your voice heard by voting. Several Pierce parents are running for office, including School Committee and Town Meeting Members. A complete voter guide, prepared by the Brookline League of Women Voters, is available at www.lwvbrookline.org. Absentee ballots are available through the town's website, www.brooklinema.gov. Please mark your calendars and remember to vote on Tues., 5/6!

Next week is National Teacher Appreciation Week, so be sure to say thank you to all of our teachers who work hard every day to educate our students. Thank you, Pierce educators! Parents of 8th-graders will provide breakfast for all teachers next Friday morning (5/9) to show their thanks and appreciation.

Fundraising Chair Needed

The Pierce PTO is seeking a new Fundraising Chair. Responsibilities include the Fall Annual Appeal, the Spring Fundraiser, and other smaller events to raise the approximately $75,000 annual PTO budget. This is a modest commitment - and no fundraising experience necessary! The current Fundraising Chair will be available to assist the new Chair with the Fall 2014 Annual Appeal as needed.
