SCOLIOSIS SCREENING FOR GRADES 5 - 9
During the next few weeks, the Public Schools of Brookline will conduct a quick and non-invasive Postural Screening Program for children in grades 5-9 as mandated by State Law (Ch 71, Sec 57). While the program is not diagnostic, it is a useful screening tool which promotes early identification of students at risk for Scoliosis who might benefit from early intervention and treatment. For screenings, children are asked to wear certain attire and to restrain long hair; please visit http://www.pierceschoolbrookline.org/health-services-nurse.html for complete details.

WHEN TO KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME
Parents often ask for guidelines re: when to keep children home with illnesses. Most germs have already been shared in the day or two before your child is feeling ill; therefore, whether your child stays home depends on his/her ability to carry on during the school day, and the impact of the illness on other students' health and learning. Visit http://www.pierceschoolbrookline.org/health-services-nurse.html for guidelines.
