Brookline Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) seeks a Pierce parent/guardian of a student with an IEP to act as special education Liaison for Pierce families. The representative will meet with Brookline Student Special Services Administration and liaisons; keep informed of new programs, changes and updates in SpEd services; and share information with Pierce families. ANNUAL HALF-WAY DAY CELEBRATION THIS FRIDAY!

Celebrate the first 90 days of school by having your child come to school in a way that illustrates "half" (half fancy/not, half red/blue, half awake/half sleepy etc). Have fun with this idea! Each person also brings in 50 cents (half a dollar) to be collected and donated to "New Pathways," a half-way house that finds temporary homes for teenagers in Brookline whose families are in crisis.

The Star Reporters for the fifth- and sixth-grade newspaper, Penguin Post: The Best, First and Worst 5th and 6th Grade Paper, invite you to click here to see this year's first edition! Hard copies were distributed to all 5th and 6th graders last week. The Penguin Post meets on Wednesdays during lunch and recess, and is open to all fifth- and sixth-graders. Work begins on the second edition on Wed., 2/5. No experience necessary. Our motto is: Write about what you love and don't stress out. Special thanks to Pierce parents Aynsley Floyd for her photography workshop, and Anna Asphar for her fabulous design layout.
