MEETINGS OF THE OVERRIDE STUDY COMMITTEE
Wed., 1/15, 7pm, and Wed., 1/22, 6pm @ Brookline Town Hall
We strongly urge you to attend two upcoming meetings of the town's Override Study Committee, which has been examining costs and efficiencies within the town and school budgets. According to the Superintendent's letter this week, these "serious conversations" have addressed school programs such as METCO, full-day kindergarten, the Brookline High School tutorial (4+1) program, materials fee program, and the Brookline Early Education Program. At these two meetings, the community can hear the potential recommendations and provide comment. Please make every attempt to come so you can weigh in on proposed options.

TECHSPLORATION
Thurs., 1/16

Techsploration will return to demonstrate "The Science of Weather" to 2nd-, 3rd-, and 4th-graders. What is weather? What is air pressure and how does it affect weather? How does lightning form? Techsploration will use hands-on experiments to demonstrate basic science principles that affect our weather. This is a fun way to get students to look at weather in a whole new way. Techsploration then moves into individual third grade classrooms to follow up with focused science workshops tailored to third grade "Structures" curriculum.
