PARENTS: NEW FORM REFLECTS STANDARDS-BASED REPORTING

At parent/teacher conferences, forms provide parents of students in Grades 1-5 with a record of their child's performance over the course of the year. This fall marks the start of the transition to a revised form reflecting a shift to standards-based reporting. The new form serves the same purpose, but provides more specific information about students' learning with respect to the content area benchmarks described in Brookline Learning Expectations.

A detailed Conference Forms Overview is available at www.brookline.k12.ma.us on the main page, as the first item under District Announcements. Contact Amy Martin with questions at amy_martin@brookline.k12.ma.us.

SAVE THE DATE: SIXTH-GRADE PLAY, AUSTRALIA: THE SEARCH FOR THE GOLDEN CROCODILE

Wednesday, 12/18, 3-4pm @ Pierce Auditorium; Bake Sale 2:30-3pm

Written for ages 5-12, this play will be enjoyed by all! Sixth-Grade Drama is a special program that allows each class of Pierce 6th-graders to work with director Amy Driscoll (PSED Coordinator) and social studies teacher Chris Smith to write and perform a full-length play based on world geography lessons from the classroom - action learning at its best!

This program was cut from the town budget two years ago and has been funded with PTO support. All proceeds from tickets and bake sale will directly benefit the program. This outstanding educational experience is unique to Pierce, and we want to ensure that it continues. Please come support this wonderful program and our students!
