Cyber security legislation for cars is introduced as 1.4 million vehicles are recalled to patch dangerous vulnerability.
In what may be an industry first, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has recalled 1.4 million vehicles to protect them from cyber security attacks. The recall came after Wired magazine ran an article detailing how hackers could compromise a Jeep Cherokee remotely.

While vital to performance, the piston ring is the poor stepchild of the high-performance engine, said Keith Jones, technical Expert at Phoenix-based Total Seal. "They get blamed for just about everything. If there is a compression problem, it's the piston rings. If there is oil consumption, it's the ring.
Since 1967, his company has been manufacturing high-performance piston ring sets installed in racing engines used in competition events ranging from IRL (Indy), NASCAR, World of Outlaw sprint car and other racing classes.

Remanufactured Parts Bill Passes Senate
A bill to require federal agencies to use remanufactured parts has passed in the Senate and will go to the U.S. House of Representatives for consideration. The Federal Vehicle Repair Cost Savings Act, or SB 565, was proposed by U.S. Senators Gary Peters (D-Mich.) James Lankford (R-Okla.) in February 2015. It will push federal agencies to use remanufactured parts in fleet vehicles for repairs on the premise that remanufactured parts are cheaper than new parts while maintaining the quality of OE parts.
