ASCCA's Member of the Month for January:  David Kusa 
David Kusa of AutoTrend Diagnostics in Campbell is ASCCA's Member of the Month. He is very active in Chapter 42 and currently serves as a board member and chapter representative. Darren has helped several new shops become ASCCA members. Dave advocates with local legislators on behalf of small businesses and their employees. He contributes to TeamTalk and is a huge resources for members.

NASTF Board of Directors Appoints Committee Co-Chairs
ASCCA's Allen Pennebaker, 2015 Chair of the NASTF Board of Directors, announced the OEM and independent co-chair appointments to each of the six NASTF committees for 2015. "The various NASTF committees are where the work gets done and we are fortunate to have such a high quality of leadership again in 2015," Allen said.

A Preview of the 2015 Detroit Auto Show

The Detroit Auto Show (aka the North American International Auto Show), runs from January 12-25, and is considered by many to be the most important car show of the year. Vehicles that will debut there include the Ford SVT Raptor truck, Cadillac CTS-V, Lexus GS F sedans, 2016 Nissan Titan, 2016 Toyota Tacoma, 2016 Chevrolet Volt, 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, Acura NSX supercar, 2016 Lincoln MKX, 2016 Audi Q7, 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class, and Cadillac ATS-V.

Better Business Bureau of Northeast California Seeks Voluntary Arbitrators for Dispute Resolution Program


Back in October, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) serving Northeast California was seeking arbitrators for its Dispute Resolution program. They are still in the process of recruiting arbitrators. Applicants can now apply online. There's also some more information on their website. BBB resolves disputes between customers and participating businesses.

FYI: IRS Mileage Rates Are Up Slightly for 2015 Auto Usage
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) mileage rates for deducting 2015 auto usage will be 57.5 cents per mile for business miles driven, up from 56 cents in 2014. The standard mileage rates apply to use of a car, van, pickup or panel truck but do not apply to fleet owners using more than four vehicles simultaneously.

Remove Your Company's Decals Before Selling a Vehicle
Have you heard about the Texas plumbing company -- Mark-1 Plumbing -- that had a photo of one of its former trucks, which still bore the company's name, show up on a terrorist Twitter feed? The Ford F-250 truck was sold to an AutoNation dealership three years ago and its logo decal was not removed. After passing through several owners, the truck ended up in Syria.
