The California Chamber of Commerce in Sacramento has provided an informative and useful white paper, "An Overview of New 2015 Laws Affecting California Employers." Thank you, Tracy Renee, for sharing this with ASCCA members! The CalChamber also provides resources for employers to be in compliance with the laws.

Got a Classic Car? We'd like to Feature it in the ASCCA's Magazine and Possibly in a Calendar

Send an email to Phil Boerner if you are interested. This is a new feature, one car per issue. We'd like a great photo and a few words on how you restored the car.

ASCCA TeamTalk Highlights: Join the Conversation!
ASCCA's TeamTalk was set up as an open forum for members to use to discuss issues of relevance to the membership of the automotive industry at large. This is a member-to-member discussion list. This past week TeamTalk shared chapter newsletters, offered advice on employee manuals, brake cleaners and hazardous waste disposal for floor sweep, gave information on Chapter 5's "Service Writing Seminar," and on texting/emailing customers on the status of repairs. Are you participating? If not, contact Sarah Spencer at sspencer@amgroup.us to sign up.

Avoid Sniper Management
Joe Marconi writes about the pitfalls of "sniper management" in Ratchet & Wrench. A sniper manager says very little to his or her employees, waits for someone to do something wrong, and then points that out. A sniper manager never makes small talk, kills morale, communicates poorly, and never praises employees. Read the article and avoid being a sniper manager!
