Summary of the October 14 BAR Advisory Committee Meeting
Below is a summary of the BAR Advisory Committee meeting held on October 14, 2014 in Sacramento. Chicago Changes Yellow Lights from 3.0 Seconds to 2.9 Seconds, Makes $8 Million Off of 77,000 New Tickets
Yellow lights are supposed to last at least 3.0 seconds. But in Chicago, they were shortened to 2.9 seconds, and that has netted nearly $8 million dollars for the city from unsuspecting drivers. A Chicago Tribune investigation uncovered this, and now Slate.com has a story. Might your city adopt this?

Mexico Now the World's No. 7 Automaker (Sacramento Bee)
I bet you didn't know that Aguascalientes is becoming a mini-Detroit. Well, it is. Aguascalientes now has two massive auto plants and a third is on the way. And Mexico is producing more than just pickup trucks and compact cars -- there are or will be BMWs, Mercedes, Audis, and Infinitis.

ASCCA Member of the Month - October
The ASCCA's member of the month for October is Jonathan Summers of the California Smog & Automotive Institute in Riverside; he is a member of ASCCA Chapter 14-Inland Empire. Jonathan has been an ASCCA member since 2012. He and his wife run a school that conducts automotive training for young technicians. He is also the owner of an auto repair shop and is an active supporter of the ASCCA.
