Get Ready to Vote on Aug. 13

The ASCCA is gearing up for the next Board of Directors election. On August 13 you can see who will be on the ballot and read candidates bios on our website. This is a two-year commitment commencing January 1, 2015. You may contact ASCCA Executive Director Gloria Peterson if you have any questions.

So, heads up for ballots coming out on August. 13. Be sure to cast your vote!

NorCal Trims SoCal Lead to 3 in Countertop Display Contest

Is this (see photo left) how it's going to be in September?

The SoCal lead is down to 21-18. ASCCA members from both the north and south are eagerly anticipating being served sundaes -- but only one of these groups is going to be right! The ASCCA's Facebook page has all the updates. Chapter reps from the losing region will serve winners sundae desserts at the September Team Weekend. The deadline to submit photos to Phil Boerner is September 12.

Small Car Safety: Chevy Volt Good, Mazda 5 Bad (R+W Insider)

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) released the results for the latest 12 cars in its small overlap front crash test, and the Chevy Volt was the only car to receive its Top Safety Pick Plus award. The Mini Cooper Countryman received a Top Safety Pick. Of the cars tested in this round, the Mazda 5 was the least safe.

ASCCA Members of the Year: Larry and Laurie Moore!

Larry and Laurie Moore, of Larry's AutoWorks in Mountain View, the ASCCA Members of the Month in September 2013, were recognized at the summer conference as ASCCA's Members of the Year. The Member of the Year is chosen from among all the Members of the Month in the previous fiscal year.
