Seattle Franchises File Lawsuit Over Minimum Wage Increase (from R+W Insider)

The International Franchise Association (IFA) announced Wednesday that it, along with five franchises, filed a lawsuit in U.S. District court in Seattle over the city's recently enacted law to increase the minimum wage to $15 per hour.

CEO Sharing All of Tesla's Patents (from The New Yorker)
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, the electric car maker, on June 12 opened up all of his patents to his competitors. "Tesla will not initiate patent lawsuits against anyone who, in good faith, wants to use our technology," he wrote in a blog post. Patents stifle progress, Musk now believes, so he's is sharing everything.


Consumer Reports Responds to Auto Trade Associations' Challenge (from AutoCare News)
Consumer Reports responded immediately to a letter from four auto trade associations, which had warned consumers against using non-OEM filters. Consumer Reports is now saying that consumers have the right to have their vehicle serviced at the business of their choice and they have the option of using aftermarket parts.

Car Care Council Offers Consumers Advice on Cooling Systems (Auto Care News)
The Car Care Council is the source of information for the "Be Car Care Aware" consumer education campaign promoting the benefits of regular vehicle care, maintenance and repair to consumers. This week, they offer advice about recognizing the symptoms of a sick cooling system.
