Help the Public Know the Value of Doing Business with ASCCA Members

Are you proudly displaying your A-frame counter-top display, sent inside the most recent issue of The California Independent to shop owner members?

ASCCA members should assemble these and place them prominently on your counter in the check-out area, or waiting area, of your shop. The displays have a built-in business card holder for your shop's card. Displaying this is a great way to advertise that your business belongs to the ASCCA and therefore has earned a high level of trust for auto repairs.

ASCEF Takes Cash Donations as well as Cars
Most of our readers know that the ASC Educational Foundation (ASCEF) accepts donations of cars through the Cars for Careers program. Did you know that ASCEF also accepts direct cash donations?

ASCEF provides educational and training opportunities, scholarships and endowments in the field of automotive repair and maintenance. Through the incredible generosity of its donors, ASCEF has been changing the lives of hundreds of students wanting to pursue a career in the automotive field. The funds raised go to provide scholarships and support sustainable training programs throughout California. As a professional in the automotive aftermarket and someone who wants to help young people develop careers in automotive technologies, donating to ASCEF is a great way to help make a difference!

May Member of the Month: Paul Grech

Paul Grech, president of Chapter 21 (San Francisco), is the ASCCA's May Member of the Month! Paul owns Allied Engine & Auto Repair in San Francisco.

In his own words:

I became involved in automotive repair because I watched my dad work on his cars from the age of four and when I was 16 my dad gave me a 1936 Ford truck. I was able to get a license at 15, but I wasn't able to keep it very long, because I had five tickets before I had a license, so I lost my license for six months. During that time without a license, I was able to put an Oldsmobile motor, a Caddie box and a nine inch Ford rear end in the '36, so it was a very dependable hot rod and I still have it.
